Most of the day has been spent wrapping up from the Big Boat Series. Firing off emails, invoices, and trying to spend time with the family. But now that most of that is ticked off for the evening I have had a chance to bounce around and work on some of the upcoming projects. More specifically I have been measuring my current boards, discussing with board shaper Stan Pleskunas then remeasuring, analyzing and doing it all over. In the next month I am hoping to build 4 new boards; 2 port tack boards and 2 starboard tack boards.These along with my course board and quiver of 2013 BEST Kites will be my weapons of choice.
In between one of my measuring episodes I came across the "trailer" for the 2012 North American Speed Sailing Invitational. Damien Leroy is a great guy, excellent videographer and World Champion kiter and last year he did the filming for the NASSI and so it was motivating to see the Trailer he put together for this year. It was a great reminder of the excitement that last years event brought as well as what is on the line. This year will be my first year competing having been the Race Director for 2011. Needless to say I am fired up for the event to start.
