Waking up in my own bed this morning was a great luxury. Especially when my alarm clock was my four year old climbing on top of me.
It was one of those trips that seemed to fly by. Flying out Monday and back Sunday with 6 days of sailing between can do that though.
Overall this was a hugely successful trip we came away with the Rolex Big Boat Series Division 1 Win which also means we are the IRC North American Champions. What was great too was we did it with six first places and one second place. The second was a little disappointing as we were called over early on a pin end start then clawed our way back on legs one and two before going to the wrong side of the course on leg three and still we only lost the race by 2 seconds. Needless to say speed was our friend all week.
So Championships in hand its time to refocus on Kiting.
