Foiling Kiteboard

Too much work and not enough time on the HydroFoil aka Foiling Kiteboard aka Foil. Now I cannot complain really since all of my work has been sailing or at least on the water working around boats but today was one of those luxury days when I actually got to get on the Foil and work on the things I wanted to work on. This usually equates to trying to go faster and also working on tacks and jibes.  Wind was from the SouthEast at a solid 25Knots which meant I was on a 6M Kite. In the small sizes I really like the TS from Best Kiteboarding. It is super stable on the 30 Meter Gorilla Lines and it makes looping and going downwind very fast and relatively stable, even on the foil.
People usually look at the Foil and ask..."Is that a regular Kiteboard?" and after explaining no it is not its a Foiling Kiteboard they always ask "Why, Is it Faster" I usually pause for a moment trying to think up the simplest answer which is "No, Not yet...But it will be." We are only in our infancy with Foiling Kiteboards and thus far they are relatively low aspect ratio and symmetrical. But imagine a high aspect ratio board that looked something like the one I built last winter..??? Something like this one pictured below? Except it's actually engineered and designed by a professional and not just hand shaped in my basement? The possibilities are only just becoming reality and I am looking forward to what lies ahead of us.
