My buddy Jim Stone and I go way back to a horrid delivery through the gulf stream and when he opened his Rigging Shop in Newport nobody was more fired up than me. His work is second to none and his support of my kiting and sailing endeavors has been non stop.
Two years ago I went to him with a problem..I didn't like the way the kite bars were being put together. I knew he was using the best materials around and I knew that it made a difference in both form and function.
He and I have since embarked on a journey to create the BEST Control System alive and I think we have done it. We are using some of the finest lines available including SK90 and other synthetics that would literally pick up an elephant.
It's been a really great process for me as I will build a prototype. Kite with it for a while learn what I like and don't like then go to him with my problems. He is in the rigging shop all day playing with lines for some of the biggest and fastest boats out there so he is usually pretty quick to solve my dilemma. He then takes my proto and does a fully Gucci rework and hands it back to me. We have been at this for almost three years now and I am happy to say that we have a product we are extremely proud of.
